Destination Wedding Photographer Cartagena Colombia

Photographing a destination wedding in Cartagena is truly a joy. The old part of the city features so many colors, buildings and churches, which is one reason I always love to photograph day-after sessions when I work there. The only challenge with day-after sessions is that it is usually 105 degrees and 90 percent humidity. Bride, groom and photographers are soaked within about five minutes of leaving their hotels. But the resulting images are worth it. This couple's hotel had a blue tile swimming pool, and the minute I saw it, I knew I wanted to get the couple into the pool after their day-after session. I knew it, but I didn't know if they'd go for it. Thankfully, they loved the idea, and were even more thrilled about doing it once we did a three-hour engagement session (meaning that we were all covered in sweat). For this image, we used off-camera lighting to help provide some lovely modeling to the couple's faces. Once the bride and groom dried off, we celebrated three days of an excellent photographic adventure with mojitos at the Hotel Santa Clara. Destination wedding photographed in Cartagena, Colombia.
