Gothic Portrait Photographer Los Angeles

There's nothing like an old boiler room to bring a gothic portrait to life. The Linda Vista Hospital in the Boyle Heights section of Los Angeles is a unique and creepy place for any photographer to work. I'm not actually clear whether you can still rent this location for photography, as the hospital is due to be turned into senior living apartments. For this portrait, I had an assistant shake the model's dress to give it movement, and asked the model to turn her head towards the light. I used various features in Photoshop to give the image a green and blue tone, as I thought it suited the image. The boiler room itself is actually rust and black in color. This abandoned hospital includes an old records room, a room that looks like it was used for shock therapy, a huge blue and white room full of windows, and many other crumbling rooms that are really interesting. I'm really happy that I had the opportunity to shoot there at least once. Portrait photographed in Los Angeles, California.
