Indian Wedding Photography Ritz Carlton Dana Point

I love mendhi or mehendi or mendi. Look it up -- you'll find that it is spelled multiple ways online, so it's hard to know which spelling is most common. This bride's mendhi was absolutely lovely, and I couldn't wait to find a more unique way to photograph it. I had already photographed the "palms-forward" image that most Indian brides expect, but I wanted another photograph against the colors of her reception lengha. I asked her to position her hand against her cheek while positioning her other hand against the forearm of her opposing arm. The end result is a portrait that showed off the beautiful detail of her mendhi, as well as some of her beautiful reception outfit. Her smile helped this portrait come alive. This wedding was published in South Asian Bride magazine. Indian wedding photographed at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel in Dana Point, California.
