Pasadena History Museum Weddings

The Pasadena History Museum is an absolutely charming place to have a wedding. Intimate yet stylish, this venue is brimming with gardens and beautiful locations for photography. For this image, we were privileged to be allowed into the museum's atrium (where Beyonce filmed a video) to capture a few portraits. A low vantage point and a super-wide-angle lens helped me capture a unique perspective, while a few hours of Photoshop helped me make the entire scene look amazing. Ceremonies at the Pasadena History Museum take place on the stairs of the mansion, with guests seated on either side. I find that stepladders are particularly helpful when shooting the ceremony, as the couple is positioned midway up or at the top of a grand staircase. The reception location is adjacent to the ceremony area, and is nestled among beautiful trees, which provides guests with a lovely outdoor area in which to eat, drink and make merry.

Location: 470 W Walnut St, Pasadena, CA 91103.
