When the blog goes quiet, it’s always because my client work comes first. So this is just a quick note to let you know that I hope to (at minimum) post some sneak peeks sometime in the coming week. But I’ll share a quick story before I head out to tonight’s event. I moved into a new neighborhood late last year (which I love), and after a while, I started noticing a guy outside, semi-walking a dog whose hindquarters were in a sling that her owner held up as he walked. I always waved, but didn’t have a chance to walk over and say hi until a few weeks ago. It turns out the poor dog — Ripley — has bone cancer, and my neighbor and his wife are just trying to keep her as comfortable as possible as she declines. I got home from last night’s job at around 1:30 a.m., and there was my neighbor, outside with his dog, helping her across the lawn again. So I of course went over for a late-night chat, and to spend some time petting Ripley. That dog makes me want to donate some of my time to a place like Buckhead Paws dog walking<\/a>, it could probably do me some good too. I’m really touched by this family’s dedication towards making their dog’s final months as peaceful as possible. They are even working alternate schedules so someone can always be at home with the dog. I’m not quite sure why I’m sharing this story, but it just touched my heart last night, so I thought I’d post about it.
