Beauty Photographers Los Angeles
The precision of beauty photography is a continually fascinating challenge for photographers. Lighting, makeup, hair and styling all combine to help beauty photographers create stunning images, but at the end of the day, you also have to have the right model. I love working with models who have great bone structure and are patient through multiple looks involving changes in makeup and hair styles. I photographed this beauty image during a session with model Sara Liz in Los Angeles. Her facial features were a joy to document, and her sunny disposition made our long day of shooting go off without a hitch. HIgh frequency separation coupled with dodge and burn technique helped refine the model's skin and features, thus keeping the focus on the makeup, hair and styling. In this case, we paired a rust fringed cropped jacket with a cocktail hat created by couture hate maker Arturo Rios. We chose a cool makeup palette to serve as a contrast to the warmth of the hat and jacket colors. The obvious choice might be to keep the makeup warm, but for this image, we wanted the subtlety of the soft yet cool makeup tones to serve as a contrast.
