Pre-wedding photography has become one of the biggest trends in weddings, and I am delighted to be able to work with clients from Asia, China, Southern California, Los Angeles, Orange County and around the world to create stunning portraits that showcase their personalities and lifestyle. For this image, taken on a foggy day in Pasadena, my clients wanted to showcase their style in a garden setting. I remembered seeing some manicured bushes that reminded me of the gardens at Versailles, and I envisioned the bride and groom standing towards the back of the bushes with the mountain greenery behind them. This simple composition actually took quite a bit of thought. I used off-camera lighting to highlight my subjects, and then used numerous Photoshop tools to ensure that the bushes retained detail while not distracting from the bride and groom. Pre-wedding shoots are a bit different than engagement shoots because they generally start early in the morning and end late in the day. They also usually involve professional hair and makeup as well as numerous clothing changes and multiple locations. Most couples also purchase an album of beautifully retouched images so they can remember their photographic adventure. Whether you want to show off your personality or your fashionable style, a pre-wedding shoot is a great way to create truly stunning images that capture the real you.
