Bridesmaids Photos Los Angeles Orange County Weddings
A vacant lot proved to be the perfect spot to create dramatic Sikh bridesmaids photos in the style of Los Angeles and Orange County weddings. This lot was adjacent to the Sikh Institute, a gurdwara located in Fresno, California, and it actually looked very boring to the eye. But the beautiful clouds hovering low in the sky helped me realize that I could use lighting to dial in a very dramatic look. My second photographer and I worked up our lighting strategy and then I laid on my chest on the ground, as 100 people stood just behind me. We were in a huge hurry, so I only had a chance to take a few quick photos before we had to leave for our next location. Off-camera lighting was key, and helped me make the sky look more dramatic while creating more dimensional light on the wedding party's faces. The breathtaking yellow-orange color of the bride's anarkali and the bridesmaid's outfits looked absolutely stunning against the blue sky. Sikh weddings are always very beautiful affairs and the Punjabi people have always been great to work with. I was able to visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar, India, several years ago, and it was wonderful being able to see their most holy temple.
