Hotel Figueroa Wedding Photographer Groom Portrait
I love using lighting to create more interesting groom portraits. Editorial photographer Corey Nickols chose the Hotel Figueroa for his wedding, and his choice probably was influenced by the endless array of color and texture that this wonderful hotel offers. This portrait was taken just as the sky turned dark, and involved the use of off-camera lighting. Skilled use of Photoshop created a more dramatic range of tones and colors. Notice how Corey's gaze make the image come alive. I always encourage my clients to be present in their expressions, and to communicate with their eyes. I find that making the eyes speak helps photographs come alive. I thus always work hard to get just the right expressions out of my clients.
