The SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills is a wonderful venue for weddings, events and parties. The hotel is full of stylish details, which in turn helps any photographer create more interesting images. One of the fun design elements in this hotel is the Duratrans-style photos that grace each floor. Every floor has a different image, so I went to each floor and decided what I thought might work best for a portrait location. This groom portrait was lit by a Stella 5000 continuous light by Light and Motion. A helpful videographer aimed the light for me so I could realize my vision for this image, and then I held the light for him so he could get some footage of the same setup. As the images themselves are quite yellow in tone, I felt that B&W would be the best treatment for the final image. My photography friends love this portrait, as do I. I'm thrilled that this groom was game for anything, and this image takes up one full page in the couple's album.
